My name is Fernanda, I'm 22 years-old and I study Agronomic Engineer at ESALQ-USP in Brazil. But now, I live in Netherlands at BioRomeo.
BioRomero is a biodynamic farm and produces celeriac, parsnip, koolrrap, koolrabi, rainbow carrots, spinach, parsley root, alfalfa, white cabbage, red beetroot, yellow beetroot, chioggia beetroot, pumpkin (only for seed), rhubarb, japanese oats (only for seed), strawberries, red jerusalem artichoke, horseradish, sweet potatoes, potatoes for consumers and for seed.
Why I choose the Netherlands? Because is a country that has importance in agribusiness, as productivity five times greater than the average of Europe and produce high value-added products. In addition, is the second country that invests in research for agribusiness and great in cooperatives.
Why am I writing in English? So both my friends in Brazil and my friends and co-workers here in the Netherlands will be able to read and understand what I'm writing.
My goal with the blog is to show to people how is my life here, that is, a bit of agriculture in the Netherlands, my experiences, my travels and my difficulties. My host, Krispijn, was the one who inspired me and encouraged him to start writing this blog.
